The UWAASA Committee were pleased to host our new Vice-Chancellor Professor Amit Chakma at our recent committee meeting on the 27^th of August. Professor Chakma attended for over an hour and a half and we had an open and frank exchange of views on a range of issues for academics here at UWA. The new promotions process has moved ahead, but not without some surprises. It turns out that, within a number of Schools across at least a couple of Faculties, there were “pre-approval” processes being carried out to determine whether applications should be submitted.
